Clubs of the SSJCA
Strength of the Association
The strength of the Association is in its ability as a management activity to work with the Clubs and through teamwork, harmony and commonality of purpose achieve the collective aim of providing cricket for kids and for those so aspiring, the opportunity to develop skills and participate in the game at higher levels.
In researching the list of clubs that have been part of this Association much reliance has been placed on documented information. In some years it has not been possible to verify for inclusion (or exclusion) changes that may have taken place. Thus the list while accurate to the greatest extent possible exists to primarily show that over the fifty years there have been many changes. The number of clubs participating peaked in the mid seventies and again in the early eighties reaching twenty. Today, and in recent years it has settled at around twelve.
However, particular note and credit must be paid to three clubs that have been involved from day one, Caringbah Sports Club, Miranda Magpies Sports Club and St. Patrick's Sports Club. They deserve recognition for their great support and involvement these fifty years. To say the least, the fact that they have done so speaks volumes for their good management, club spirit and abilities to attract, retain and develop young players.
The history of the Association and its member clubs has shown a willingness to adapt and move with the times, and to source out new and better methods of presenting the game and making it attractive to prospective players. Thus there is every reason to believe that the future holds even more promise building on a solid background laid over fifty years.

Clubs working together
There have been occasions also when clubs worked together and combined resources to enter a team under joint names. The first recorded instance occurred in 73/74 when St. Patrick's and Cronulla RSL entered a team that played in the 12 D competition. Doing this gave the boys a game and avoided creating a bye in that division. In more recent years it has been done and a recent example is that of Engadine Dragons and St John Bosco working together to enter a 16B team as a joint enterprise in the 2002/2003 competition under the banner of BoscoDragons just to ensure that players did not miss out.
