SDCC Academy Nominations
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008Sutherland District Cricket Club runs an academy each year selecting the elite juniors in the Sutherland Shire to partake in specialised training.
Briefly, primary objectives of the SDCCA are:
- To identify and monitor elite junior cricketers who are considered to have the potential to play First Grade Cricket for SDCC in the future
- To provide each player with a comprehensive and individually tailored development program
- To provide excellent facilities to deliver the program
- To provide dedicated, specialised coaching and support staff whose common goal is excellence both on and off the field
- To provide an efficient, effective and accountable administrative structure to support the program
On behalf of Sutherland District Cricket Club we confirm that trials for this years’ Academy intake will be held at Glenn McGrath Oval Caringbah.
As in the past the Academy intake will be limited to 22 players with members of the Green Shield squad drawn from the Academy squad itself. In this regard the Green Shield squad will comprise 14 players all of whom may be used throughout the series on a rotational basis depending on form, game situations etc.
Review the Rep Cricket area of the SSJCA site for dates and the nomination form.
Michael Clarke’s Twenty20 08/09
Friday, July 11th, 2008The Michael Clarke Twenty20 Knockout aims to encourage enjoyment, maximum participation and spectator appeal whilst allowing players to develop their cricket skills, knowledge and instinct based on the preface that Twenty20 Cricket is fast, different and can be used as an effective alternative to training.
Along with other forms of Cricket, Twenty20 will assist the growth of our game so Cricket is the ‘sport of choice’ for all Australians.
In the 2008/09 season Cricket NSW will again be running the Michael Clarke Twenty20 Competition in all age groups. Information will be sent through to Clubs and Associations as soon as the details have been finalised, with a view to inviting as many teams as possible to participate in this years’ Competition.
