If you would like to nominate for representative cricket this year, then you can do so by following these steps:

1. Visit Cricket-Online
2. Log in as the player. If you do not know your son/daughters username and password, then click Forgot Password, fill in the details and it will be sent to your email address.
3. Once logged in, select Nominate for Rep Cricket, selecting the appropriate age group.

You will receive a confirmation email and you can attend the trials held on the 14th & 21st of September. Nominations close on the 9th of September.

New regulations are now available on the Support Docs page.

For those familiar with SSJCA Regulations there are no changes to the effect of any existing regulation other than those listed below which have changed since last season as a result of our normal review process.

NOTE of CAUTION:

These regulations are still under review. They will be finalized at the next Delegates meeting on 9th September.

• Regulation 7.1 (Close Fielding) may come under review at the next Delegates Meeting
• Regulation 10.1.3 (Association Awards) may come under review at the next delegates meeting
• Regulation 9 (Code of Conduct) is currently being reviewed

Changes since the 2007-08 Season

• Regulation 2.4.5 (The Boundary) now permits the scoring of a 6, in Traditional and Modified
• Regulation 3.2.4 (Playing 3 Games in a Higher Age or Grade) has been changed so that when a player plays 3 matches in the Sydney Grade Competition then they should remain in that Competition.
• Regulation 3.3 (The Toss) has been changed to state that the toss should occur between 30 and 10 minutes before the start of the match
• Regulation 3.4.2 (Requesting a 1-day Match Due to Insufficient Players) has been added to permit a request for a 1 day match rather than forfeit the full match.
• Regulation 3.12 (Breaches Arising from Matches) has now been broadened to distinguish between technical breaches and Code of Conduct. The protocol for managing disputes is now formalized in these regulations.
• Regulation 4.3 (Loss of Time on Day One) has been changed to permit extensions to a 1st innings for reasons other than the weather and the field.
• Regulation 7.1 (Close fielding) has been changed to permit fielding within 10 metres, with protective equipment, for Under 16, 14A, 14B and 12A.
• Regulation 8.2.3. (Player Eligibility) has been changed removing the requirement to be present at a match for 100% of the time.

With cricket registrations for the 2008/09 season closing shortly, the following clubs require these additional players.

Sylvania Heights Rego Form

It is with great pleasure that the SSJCA can announce that Steve Mulally, Cricket NSW Cricket Manager, and local Shire resident, has accepted the position of Coaching Co-ordinator for season 2008/09.

Proposed initiatives for the role are, but not limited to:

1. Co-ordinating any/all Cricket NSW coaching initiatives into the Shire.
2. Being the contact point for individual clubs co-ordinators or coaches with queries or ways to better themselves or their clubs.
3. Co-ordinating with the Grade club the use of their players/coaching staff to assist in both coaching our coaches and /or coaching our elite players and/or coaching of our non elite players.
4. Posting “Coaching Tips’ on the SSJCA web site.
5. In conjunction with some committee members running one or two “coaching forum” sessions, towards the mid or end of the year to get feedback on what coaches are really after or what their main gripes are.
6. Suggesting to the committee of new innovations to train and up skill our coaches moving forward.
7. Being “custodian” via cricket on line of the coaching qualifications of all coaches and moving towards ways of improving the entire standard across the board.
8. Being involved with the Under 10 Development squad.
