Sutherland District Cricket Club runs an academy each year selecting the elite juniors in the Sutherland Shire to partake in specialised training.

Briefly, primary objectives of the SDCCA are

• To identify and monitor elite junior cricketers who are considered to have the potential to play First Grade Cricket for SDCC in the future
• To provide each player with a comprehensive and individually tailored development program
• To provide excellent facilities to deliver the program
• To provide dedicated, specialised coaching and support staff whose common goal is excellence both on and off the field
• To provide an efficient, effective and accountable administrative structure to support the program
